Welcome
to Crazy Bear Lodge on Daniel's Lake.
We know that with all the fun and
exciting things to see and do here on the Kenai Peninsula, you can get pretty exhausted
by the end of a day. So if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to relax, Crazy
Bear Lodge on the Kenai Peninsula is where you want to be.
Secluded Lodge on Alaska's
Scenic Kenai Peninsula.
Crazy Bear Lodge is nestled along the shores of beautiful Daniel's
Lake where the sunrise and sunset views are regarded as awe-inspiring and termed pictorial
by
some of Alaska's best known nature photographers. The lodge has a large living room/dining
area and kitchen, which are common areas. The kitchen is
fully equipped for preparing your own meals or you can arrange for a gourmet chef to
prepare exquisite Alaskan meals for you.
Each of the clean and cozy bedrooms have their own private baths. There
are two patio areas, a barbeque for grilling your "catch of the day", and then gather
around the fire pit and talk about "the one that got away." Here at Crazy
Bear Lodge you can kick back relax and watch the trout raising for a meal on the lake
or take the canoe out and test your luck at some wild Alaska rainbow trout fishing.
Photographers and visitors alike enjoy watching the loons diving on the lake, the moose
strolling through the yard and the eagles soaring overhead. While you are here you
can do as much or as little as you want. Sleep in, enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee on
the deck and enjoy the peaceful solitude of this Kenai Peninsula Lodge.
Mornings are considered a special time here on the Kenai. With the long summer days
it's always a pleasure to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting out for a quiet
walk to enjoy all the Alaska wildflowers.
Secluded yet convenient, Crazy Bear Lodge is only minutes from:
- Air Charter and Fishing Guide Services:
- Are ready to take you to the very best fishing for Alaska salmon, rainbow trout,
and halibut, flightseeing over Cook Inlet, bear viewing around the Kenai National
Wildlife Refuge. View Alaska's world famous glaciers from above and venture out
into the
wilderness in comfort from the seat of an Alaskan Air Charter floatplane.
- Captain Cook State Recreation Area (3,460-acre Recreation Area):
- Enjoy breathtaking views from the wilderness trails within Capt.
Cook Park and
the three active volcanoes, Mt. Redoubt, Mt. Spur, and Mt.
Iliamna.
Mt. Spur last erupted in the summer of 1992, and Mt. Redoubt erupted both in the
winter of 1989 and early spring of 1990. All three are considered active volcanoes
and often small clouds of steam are seen venting from them.
- Swanson River and the Swanson River Canoe System is a fly fisherman's dream and
provides excellent fishing for silver salmon, sockeye salmon and rainbow trout.
- Bishop Creek that feeds out of Daniel's lake is
a popular hiking area for locals and visitors alike. From the Spur highway there
is a well maintained trail to the beach where a large swimming hole is located.
The trail passes through some of the old growth forests within the Recreation area.
Bishop creek is a fun place to watch sockeye salmon as they enter into Daniel's
lake.
- World Famous Kenai River:
- Recognized for it's tremendous runs of king salmon, silver, and sockeye salmon,
this river also has some fabulous rainbow trout, char and dolly varden fishing.
There are many fishing guide services available along with river rafting and float
trips.
- The Kenai Flats State Recreation Site:
- This is a must stop for bird watchers and frequently a herd of caribou can be
spotted around the Warren Ames Bridge.
- Golfing on the Kenai Peninsula is Great:
- Not one but four golf courses are available in the near by area.
Crazy Bear Lodge is conveniently located for all your Alaska vacation plans. This
is Kenai Peninsula Lodging at it's finest.

This was our first time at the lodge. We enjoyed meeting with all the guests. Thanks
for the fishing. I would not have had this experience if it had not been for you all.
I now have photos of a great time. Thanks for the memories.
