This quiet walk on sandy beaches is only minutes away from Crazy Bear Lodge. From the parking area it's just minutes from the lodge, then only a 5 minute hike down a well maintained path to the mouth of Bishop Creek. Here you can watch salmon as they enter the creek from Cook Inlet, swim in the swimming hole of the creek or gaze at the volcanoes across the inlet. This beach is primarily fine sand and there is a picnic table and fire ring provided for your enjoyment.

It is an easy hike on a wide trail with a very gentle slope. There are foot bridges provided across all of the soft areas to protect the delicate ecosystem that surrounds Bishop Creek.

Once you reach the beach, the trail opens up to the sandy beach and a breathtaking view of Cook Inlet and the mountains stretches out before you. This is one of those hidden hideaways known to us locals and seldom gets seen by visitors.
